The 2015-2016 State of the Service report was tabled in Parliament on 28 November 2016.
Australian Public Service Commissioner the Hon John Lloyd PSM said the report highlights the strengths of the Australian Public Service with high levels of integrity, professionalism and engagement.
“The 2016 employee census shows high levels of employee engagement across the APS. Our engaged workforce is responding well to current challenges, including reducing red tape, improving efficiency, and engaging with innovation and digital transformation.”
“An inclusive and diverse workforce is a healthy and productive workforce. The APS does well in this regard, but we can always do better.”
“In 2015–16 the Commission launched strategies aimed at improving our gender equality practices, Indigenous employment participation rates, and the employment participation rates of people with disability.”
“The report identifies areas the Commission will continue to work on in the coming year, including ongoing reforms to workforce management, and upgrading performance and talent management capabilities” Commissioner Lloyd said.
